Hut2Hut Events is dedicated to helping Canadian Business get digital, living on the cutting edge of Canada’s technology sector. Striving to create events that facilitate true partnership and learning opportunities, our dedicated team is able to move as quickly as the business communities we serve. In January 2012, our team successfully launched Dx3 Canada, the first and only conference and trade show dedicated to Canada’s digital marketing, advertising and retailing industries.
Dx3 has since grown into the largest Canadian event focused on digital marketing, retail and advertising, while attracting more than 4,000 professionals from Canada's leading brands, agencies and retailers. In less than three years, Dx3 has garnered support from some of the most well-known digital brands in the world, such as Facebook, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Visa, American Express, MasterCard, Rogers and AOL. Dx3 2015 will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on March 11 & 12.
Also in 2012, Hut2Hut Events partnered with AndroidTO, Canada’s only conference dedicated to Android development, to further grow the event using our experience, knowledge and event management capabilities. Details for AndroidTO 2014 will be announced soon.
CM1, a collaboration between Hut2Hut Events, FITC and The Tite Group described how brands and agencies can utilize, analyze and optimize the Community Manager role. The inaugural CM1 took place November 2013 at Second City in Toronto and we recently wrapped up the second one in May 2014 at the Glenn Gould Studio.
Before the plunge to entrepreneurship Duncan was Executive Vice-President of Business Development Worldwide at dmg world media. In his 18 year stint at dmg he found himself in multiple roles learning the trade in sales on consumer events before moving into trade shows and publications. His knowledge and expertise across a number of diverse industries, from oil and gas to the skiing and food industries, have helped him bring fresh ideas to new projects, culminating in Dx3. Duncan is known for both his people and project management skills and when he is not launching new ventures or climbing mountains, you can find him on the field coaching one of Toronto’s youth rugby teams.
Anthony began his career in the advertising world at TBWA, one of the world’s top creative agencies. While leading the digital strategies of some of the world’s most-recognized brands, Anthony discovered his passion for media and technology. This passion and experience together with Anthony’s innate entrepreneurial drive led him to help launch Hut2Hut Events, building Dx3 from inception into the largest event of its kind in Canada. As Partner, Anthony leads all things growth, and content at Hut2Hut Events.
Content & Community Manager
Ben is a communication specialist and web analytics enthusiast who fled his hometown of Ottawa to join Hut2Hut. Using his experience as a freelance journalist, blogger and online ad manager, Ben manages the Dx3 Digest and related social media accounts. He enjoys video games, NBA basketball, and writing about himself in the third person.
Marketing & Operations Coordinator
A journalist by trade, Anum decided to change career paths after landing her first real job as a merchandiser at a leading fashion retailer where she would often contribute to the marketing and promotions team for the brand in Canada. From there she went to work as a community manager for a boutique agency. Anum joined Hut2Hut Events a year ago to lead all operational elements of Dx3 and AndroidTO. She is also known in Toronto as an influencer in the fashion and beauty industry through her blog and online identity, SummerxSkin.
Reilly brings an extensive background in experiential marketing to her work. After studying at The University of Western Ontario Reilly immersed herself in the marketing field working in the areas of promotions, social marketing and content marketing. When not working with the team to make Dx3 the sweetest digital marketing and tech event ever, Reilly enjoys community service for charities like the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and St. Felix Centre.
Mike Cooke has over 30 years’ experience in the trade show industry and has launched many successful shows and businesses in his career. He spent 12 years as the CEO of dmg world media which became Canada’s largest trade show organizer under his stewardship. Mike is no stranger to the digital marketplace, as he was responsible for identifying and acquiring both ad:tech and iMedia, and was the architect of the strategy that developed them into the major global brands they are today.
Susie Di Carlantonio
Susie is a Certified Management Accountant with over 13 year’s experience in the financial management of information. Her career spans over a multitude of different industries, but in particular she worked for 8 years as Finance Controller at dmg world media overseeing the financial reporting, strategic planning, and business development for various consumer, trade, retail and technology events within the marketplace.
