Meghan Roach is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Roots Corporation (TSX:ROOT). Before joining Roots, Meghan spent eight years with Searchlight Capital Partners, a private equity firm with operations in North America and Europe, where she was most recently a Managing Director. Prior to Searchlight, Meghan was a member of the private equity investment team at the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, after beginning her career with KPMG.
Meghan served on the Roots Corporation Board of Directors from 2015 to 2017 and rejoined in 2020. Notably, she has led Roots meaningful new philanthropic endeavors, referred to as Roots Cares. These efforts have most recently included launching a new way for customers to have a say in Roots charitable partnership. When consumers head to check out, they can choose which charity they would like Roots to donate to on their behalf, at no cost to them, making a real difference to communities across the US.
She also sat on the Board of M&M Food Market from 2014 to 2022. A passionate advocate for change, Meghan acts as a mentor for the Girls E-Mentorship program and a member of the Board and Investment Committee of the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation. Meghan holds an MBA with first class distinction from the University of Oxford, an Honours Bachelor of Commerce with first class distinction from Queen's University, and a CPA/CA designation.
Meghan was named one of Canada's Women of the Year in 2021, and one of 2021s Top International Women in Retail.
