Russ has twenty years leading strategic and creative teams at the forefront of digital design and strategy. Ultimately he’s happiest when he can bring together strategic insights, digital innovation, and creative storytelling.
He started thinking and writing about online experiences while working towards his Ph.D. in digital storytelling and performance at the University of Calgary. While in graduate school, Russ joined a dot-com to lead their design team and decided that was the path to follow. Growing along with the digital industry, he has led creative teams in-house and for agencies delivering projects for global brands including AT&T, Bayer, Blue Shield of California, Clorox, Coca-Cola, ESPN, Infiniti, Kraft Foods, MTV, Nissan, SAP, and the United Way.
Russ lives in Calgary with his family and is VP Strategy for McCann West. He regularly writes on digital experiences and often returns to the local universities as an instructor and guest speaker.
